Part of Ocean Beach closed

What is a Radiohead Album Worth to You?

Radiohead has set the internet abuzz with the announcement of their new album, In Rainbows will be available next week for download with no set price. The way it's set up, when you go to pre-order the album, there is a field where you are prompted to entry what you want to pay for it. They don't even have a suggested price, the default is an empty field.

SAN FRANCISCO / Castro Halloween campaign launched

A group of residents and merchants in the Castro district is organizing to challenge city plans to shut down the annual Halloween celebration in the neighborhood this year. The group, calling itself "Citizens for Halloween," is led by Alix Rosenthal, who ran unsuccessfully for supervisor last year against incumbent Supervisor Bevan Dufty, whose district includes the Castro and who has been a leading advocate for ending the city's practice of providing crowd control, staging and portable lavatories for the otherwise unofficial event.

Vox R36 Release Notes

A new theme of mine made it's way into the new release of Vox today. The photo comes from the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 7 day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money and awareness to fight HIV/AIDS. I snapped this one on Day 1 (SF to Santa Cruz) of the ride in 2005 when two of my friends we passing each other up ahead of me.

The Castro: What's the story with the Shell station at Market/15th/Sanchez? They've started breaking up the pavement. Presumably to pull the gas tanks out. Anybody know the plan? Is there a plan?
