So... what does this tell us about the TV show?
- The Valenzetti Equaztion predicts the time left until the extinction of the human race and the numbers are the core values.
- The numbers represent the factors in the environment
- The research on the island was an attempt to change those values
- The broadcast tower was built to only transmit the numbers
- The Hanso Foundation would know if the research was successful because the broadcast would change.
Here's some speculation of mine so far:
- If the transmitter is broadcasting the numbers, there must be an easy way to get them once you know you're looking for, such as a simple measurement
- If the equaztion is counting down to our extinction, there must also be at least one "non-core" value that adjusts for the passage of time. What I'm getting at is that they've left themselves an out if anyone wants to try and work out exactly how long we have left. They can put 50 values into the equaztion, these are just the important ones for the purpose of the show.
