A group of residents and merchants in the Castro district is organizing to challenge city plans to shut down the annual Halloween celebration in the neighborhood this year. The group, calling itself "Citizens for Halloween," is led by Alix Rosenthal, who ran unsuccessfully for supervisor last year against incumbent Supervisor Bevan Dufty, whose district includes the Castro and who has been a leading advocate for ending the city's practice of providing crowd control, staging and portable lavatories for the otherwise unofficial event.

Oh Brother do any of the people that are in "Citizens for Haloween" live in the Castro on the blocks are most affected by this brawl? If not, lets move the event to in front of their homes.
